Photoshop Tutorials: Creating planets

Adobe Photoshop graphics editing software tutorials, tips & tricks: creating planets and space.

1. FILE-NEW DOCUMENT make the dimensions any size you like
2. Use the bucket tool to make the image all black
3. Use the elliptical marquis tool to select a circle.
4. Use the gradient tool to fill the circle with color use radial gradient and double click on the color drop down menu to get the gradient editor and then double click on the sliders to select the colors you want.
5. SELECT-ALL or APPLE-A
6. FILTER-Motion Blur then DESELECT
7. LAYER-NEW LAYER and repeat steps 3,4,5, and 6 to add another planet of two. Make them different sizes for a little more depth of field and you can put less blur on the planets you want to appear closer.
8. Flatten Image and make a new Layer
9. Use the bucket tool to make this layer black and switch the Layers setting to SCREEN.
10. FILTER-NOISE-ADD NOISE check the monochromatic box adjust the slider hit OK
11. With your paint brush tool add a few white spots of different sizes in random places you can double click on the brush tool to get the brush drop down and change the master diameter to 2 PX then 3 PX then 5 pix and a few bigger ones if you like
12. FILTER- BLUR- RADIAL BLUR and blur just a little bit and if you want you can add more white spots with your paintbrush.
13. FLATTEN-IMAGE
14. CREATE NEW LAYER use the circle marquis to select another circle fill the circle with black SELECT-INVERSE Use the brush tool the spray paint in some gas clouds FILTER-LIQUIFY
15. NEW-LAYER Make a black circle on top SELECT
